Jackie Stewart 1967 GP Nurburgring, Germany

This incredible photograph depicts racing legend Jackie Stewart during the 1967 German Grand Prix, held at the Nurburgring on August 6th. The Scotsman qualified his BRM P83 in third, putting on a strong performance for the British Racing Motors team before transmission problems forced him to retire after only five laps. Popularly nicknamed “The Green Hell” by Stewart himself, the impressive jump pictured here lends itself to the nasty bumps prominent on the track surface in those days.
