Ford Motor Company’s return to the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, exactly 50 years since its incredible 1966 victory, meant Toyota and Ferrari would face some new serious competition. In a race where true determination and teamwork were essential to achieving a good result, it was the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Team that ultimately took the GTE Pro Class crown with their #68 Ford GT. Fast forward one year, that same team would return to the historic Circuit de la Sarthe with a quartet of Ford GTs to defend their title at the 85th running of the annual endurance event. The #69 car, captured here in a stunning night shot, placed highest in qualifying amongst Ford’s four cars. Unfortunately, a tail lamp issue would hinder its progress - placing the Ford GT in 23rd overall.
