Audi R18, 24H of Le Mans

The 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, held at the Circuit de la Sarthe, proved to be one of the most controversial race in the event’s history. A shocking ending, in which Toyota’s #5 race leader was robbed of a fairly certain victory with only three minutes to go on the clock, meant Audi’s two R18 cars got promoted up one position. The stunning shot above captures Audi Sport Team’s #7, driven by Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Tréluyer, on its way to a solid fourth place finish after a grueling 367 laps. It was the Audi squad’s 18th participation in the historic event since 1999, with an impressive 13 victories on their hands.
